Tony had promised to go all out for Steve's birthday and goddamnit, he was doing just what he promised.

He'd probably have to get JARVIS to not spill how much it cost, though. Yeah, that was going on the list.

But it was more than worth the view, watching the sun rise with a cup of coffee while Steve finished up his usual morning marathon.

Tony obliged in rubbing the bavk of his neck at that, pressing into tense muscles with steady insistence. "Do I?"

It was no weirder than being charmed that Steve knew that.

"And the small of your back," Steve said, closing his eyes.

"Must be why I love when you give me backrubs," Tony murmured, kissing his temple as he pressed his thumbs into the base of Steve's neck.

Steve moaned softly. "That's why I do it."

"Not just to make me loose and relaxed beneath you?" he asked, nipping at Steve's ear now

"That too," Steve said, shivering.

"I'd call you predictable, but I happen to like it about you," Tony said, tightening his legs around Steve.

Steve reached up and gave Tony's leg a quick squeeze. "Joining me in here any time soon?"

"We'll have to keep things slow," he said, shifting with discomfort. He really didn't want to ruin the mood like last time.

Steve glanced up at him, expression sincere. "Of course, sweetheart. As long as you need."

Tony kissed him once quickly for that. And then again, deeper and more intent. "I'll make it up to you," he promised.

"There's nothing to apologize for," Steve said firmly.

"Not even a little?" Tony asked with a teasing grin. Because feelings were hard and Steve was much, much too nice to him.

"Not even a little," Steve said, kissing his knee.

Tony sighed in something like relief, slipping around him into the shallow water so he could kiss him properly for that.

Steve kissed him back, keeping it soft and sincere. "I love you."

"Love you too," he murmured back, resting h8s forehead against Steve's.

"What do you need from me, sweetheart?" Steve whispered, kissing him again.

"No, no, no. This week is about you," Tony replied, kissing him again.

"Making you happy is about me," Steve insisted.

Tony chuckled at that, kissing a little trail along Steve's jaw and down his neck. "Oh, really?"

Steve closed his eyes, smiling and letting Tony take conntrol. "Definitely."

"Well, we share wanting to make the other happy," he said, pressing in to straddle Steve's thighs.

Steve smiled wider. "You make me ridiculously happy."

Tony couldn't even try to hide how much that meant to hear, grinning as he kissed him again. "Good. Perfect."
