Well, they'd had another repeat kid. One from a less than ideal timeline from the sound of things. But it was consistent. That had to be good, right?

Right.

At least that's what Tony was hoping as he'd added more backup plans to his list based on the little tidbits she'd dropped here and there. Because that was just how he rolled when faced with bizarre scenarios.

But right now? Right now he was going to spend the evening with Steve to make up for, well, everything about the weekend. "I ordered pizza," he called once he heard Steve and the dog coming back from a walk.

"Yeah," Tony agreed, a touch sadly.

"It's not a no," Steve repeated quietly, hugging Tony harder.

Tony twisted a little to kiss the available bit of skin under Steve's jawline. "I know, I know. It's a lot of things to consider. Kids are a lot."

"And they don't go home after a few days," Steve agreed, closing his eyes to concentrate on Tony's closeness. "But don't ever think that I'm being slow on this decision because I don't think you'll be good at it. You'll be amazing."

"It'll happen or it won't." Because that was the way of things.

"Which way would you rather it go?" Steve asked.

"I'd like it to happen, but I'm happy with just you too."

He'd just channel all that paternal energy to awkwardly mentoring people.

Every Peter would appreciate it!

Steve kissed him between the eyes. "Well. We can do research? No harm in looking into options, right?"

Miles or Riri were more likely at the rate his home was going.

"We can," he agreed readily. Research he could do!

Steve smiled wide. "It'll probably take a while anyway."

"Background checks," he teased.

[heroic_jawline]

"Well, I'm an international fugitive in my universe and dead in yours, so that's got to complicate things," Steve said.

Tony pinched his fingers together to show it was just a small hurdle to overcome.

Steve laughed. "Small problem," he echoed.

"So, a number of things to figure out first." Though, really, was anyone ever dully prepared for a child?

"Planning," Steve said. "Your favorite."

"Well, at least you'll know all the possible options," he teased.

"Will there be spreadsheets?" Steve teased back.

[imafuturist]

"There's nothing wrong with spreadsheets," Tony insisted. "Or the occasional bit of math."

"I love that you really believe that," Steve said, smiling.

"Watch your silly movie," he teased, relaxing against Steve with a grin.

Getting all that out there felt good. Like relieving a weight on his shoulders.

"It's going to be amazing," Steve said, going back to his pizza and smiling.

"You think that about all these romcoms," Tony replied, laughing.

"I like the happy endings," Steve admitted.

"Well then," Tony said, placing a hand on Steve's chest as he rested his head against his shoulder. "I'll allow it."
