Rockafeller Center Christmas Tree - NYC - Sunday Afternoon

Well, it had felt necessary to do the tourist thing and go look at the tree with the mass of people leading up to the holiday. The urge to do this was quickly passing as they were in the moment of it.

Mostly because it was too cold for Steve and too crowded for the both of them. But it was a pretty tree at least. The lone upside to the whole afternoon here.

"We can say we saw it now," Tony suggested, arm curled around Steve's and all bundled up in winter gear that was probably too expensive for where they were. Like he was just asking to be pickpocketed or something.

(Joke was on them, he never remembered to carry a wallet because why would he?)

Steve nodded. "New Yorkers normally don't, or at least don't show us," he said.

One last not so sly selfie and they were at the front of the line.

"Hi," Tony said with a grin before listing off an order that might cause Steve to panic over the cost.

Steve definitely looked panicked. "Tony--"

Tony just smiled over at him like he didn't see any reason for that. "Did you want something specific?"

Steve's eyes went wide. "More?" he gasped.

The Great Depression had kicked in again, Tony.

"The cornflakes bar?" Tony suggested and then nodded at the cashier to add it to the bundle.

"Okay?" Steve said faintly. "Did you leave anything for everyone else?"

"Don't be silly, I took it easy like you said!" Yep. This was taking it easy, Steve.

Steve looked slightly despairing to hear that.

Tony beamed as a large bag and their hot chocolates were placed on the counter while he paid just way too much.

"Steve, could you take the bag?"

"Yes, dear," Steve said dryly.

"Thank you, darling, Tony said, carrying the two hot cocos. Which were just so heavy. So, so heavy.

His poor, poor arms. Steve's, naturally, were fine.

"I think you overestimate what the bike'll carry," he said.

"Well, we have to drink our cocoa, so we can eat some chocolate while we wait on that?"

Steve, don't think he wouldn't come up with a plan here.

Steve sighed. "I can't think of a better idea," he admitted.

Tony leaned over to kiss him on the cheek for that. "You'll enjoy it."

"The twenty dollar hot chocolate? I certainly hope so," Steve said, like an old person.

"You picked Brooklyn," Tony said, laughing.

[heroic_jawline]

"Twenty. Dollars," Steve repeated.

Tony just snorted. "Think we can find a place to sit?"

"I'm sure there's a park around the corner if you aren't going to complain about your warm butt on cold concrete," Steve teased.

"I'll just make you warm me up later." Yes, that was a shameless come-on.

Steve laughed. "Why do you think I picked the motorcycle for this trip? I've been buttering you up."

[imafuturist]

"Next you'll be plying me with pizza and a soft pretzel," he teased, holding the drinks to the side so he could steal a kiss without spilling.

"Maybe," Steve said with a grin as he kissed him back. "I know you."
