Tony had promised to go all out for Steve's birthday and goddamnit, he was doing just what he promised.

He'd probably have to get JARVIS to not spill how much it cost, though. Yeah, that was going on the list.

But it was more than worth the view, watching the sun rise with a cup of coffee while Steve finished up his usual morning marathon.

"Nope," Tony decided after a moment of thought, pressing a kiss to the top of his head.

Steve sighed happily. "I still have no idea how I snagged a fella like you, but I'm so glad I did."

Tony laughed, shaking his head and tightening his legs around Steve for a brief moment. "Are you trying to besmirch my taste?"

"Maybe a little," Steve teased.

"Heartless man," Tony gasped, kissing him on the temple.

Steve grinned. "How can I make it up to you?"

Tony hummed thoughtfully as he nearly draped himself over Steve's shoulders. "A little groveling," he teased.

"I'm very, very sorry for having impugned your amazing taste in men," Steve said. "Like that?"

Tony had to smother a laugh against Steve's shoulder for that. "Very good."

Steve grinned up at him, pleased. "So I get more of a scalp massage?"

"Of course, sweetheart," Tony said, still laughing a bit as he pressed his fingers into tense points along Steve's temples.

Steve let out a low moan. "Gosh, you're good at this--"

"You just carry all your stress here," Tony chided gently, carefully looming for other spots.

"And in the back of my neck," Steve agreed. "You keep it in your shoulders."

That's totally a normal thing to know, right?

Tony obliged in rubbing the bavk of his neck at that, pressing into tense muscles with steady insistence. "Do I?"

It was no weirder than being charmed that Steve knew that.

"And the small of your back," Steve said, closing his eyes.

"Must be why I love when you give me backrubs," Tony murmured, kissing his temple as he pressed his thumbs into the base of Steve's neck.

Steve moaned softly. "That's why I do it."

"Not just to make me loose and relaxed beneath you?" he asked, nipping at Steve's ear now

"That too," Steve said, shivering.

"I'd call you predictable, but I happen to like it about you," Tony said, tightening his legs around Steve.

Steve reached up and gave Tony's leg a quick squeeze. "Joining me in here any time soon?"

"We'll have to keep things slow," he said, shifting with discomfort. He really didn't want to ruin the mood like last time.

Steve glanced up at him, expression sincere. "Of course, sweetheart. As long as you need."

Tony kissed him once quickly for that. And then again, deeper and more intent. "I'll make it up to you," he promised.
