Rockafeller Center Christmas Tree - NYC - Sunday Afternoon

Well, it had felt necessary to do the tourist thing and go look at the tree with the mass of people leading up to the holiday. The urge to do this was quickly passing as they were in the moment of it.

Mostly because it was too cold for Steve and too crowded for the both of them. But it was a pretty tree at least. The lone upside to the whole afternoon here.

"We can say we saw it now," Tony suggested, arm curled around Steve's and all bundled up in winter gear that was probably too expensive for where they were. Like he was just asking to be pickpocketed or something.

(Joke was on them, he never remembered to carry a wallet because why would he?)

"Exactly," Steve said. "And we don't tend to go when it's full of tourists."

It turned out when you owned a wing, they let you in basically whenever.

"We should probably do some kind of charity thing there this year." Oh yeah, make it even more insane.

Steve wrinkled up his nose. "We don't have to dress up and go to the Met Ball, do we?"

"Oh no, Anna snubbed Janet one year and I reject invitations out of spite now." A perfectly valid reason for these things.

"She snubbed Jan?!"

Well, now Anna had a very disappointed Steve Rogers.

"Her first collection wasn't well received," Tony replied like that explained it all. "Trust me, you don't want her to get into the whole rant."

"Maybe I'll ask at New Year," Steve said, "after she's had a couple of glasses of champagne."

"Asking for trouble," Tony replied. "Just asking for it!"

"It's that bad, huh?" Steve asked, grinning as his motorcycle came into view.

"She has opinions about Vogue," Tony replied solemnly.

[heroic_jawline]

"Jan has opinions about everything," Steve said, smiling fondly.

"Don't we all," Tony agreed, leaning into his side.

Now that they were past the crush of the tourists, Steve leaned in for a longer, more thorough kiss.

Tony hummed, lingering there until someone yelled at them for standing still on the sidewalk. Because it wasn't New York without people giving zero fucks about your romantic moment.

Steve laughed and pulled away. "I love this city."

"Missed the attitude here?" Tony asked, ducking his head to laugh.

"Maybe a little," Steve admitted. "They just don't care at all about who we might be."

Tony grinned and pulled him along so they weren't holding up the foot traffic. "And no one has time for idiots in the middle of the sidewalk."

"Well, who does?" Steve asked, laughing.

"And only tourists stop more than necessary," Tony replied. "Or people filming something."

Steve sniffed. "The Instagram people."

Sometimes Steve was exactly as old as his birthyear said he was.

"Oh my god, old man." Tony said with another laugh.

[heroic_jawline]

"I am not," Steve said erroneously.

[imafuturist]

"Ancient," he teased, leaning in for another kiss.

[heroic_jawline]

"You're robbing the cradle," Steve teased.
